Located about 10 minutes drive from Sunchang downtown, Gangcheonsan is one of the most beautiful park in Jeollabuk-do province.
When fall arrives, trees changes their leaves into red, yellow, orange, amazing bright colors. The fall foliage can be seen in all mountain around Korea, but Jeollabuk-do province became famous over the years, offering one of the most stunning scenery. One of the most popular places in Sunchang to admire the beautiful ladnscape is called Gangcheonsan.
Gangcheonsan is accessible to everyone, as it offers various hikes, with different intensity. The main pathway is accessible only on foot.
First, you will have to buy a ticket: 3,000won at the ticketing booth. Once you get it, then you are free to go !

Designated as the very first provincial park in Korea in 1981, Gangcheonsan is a great place for taking pictures, seeing waterfalls and enjoying a walk with friends and family. Gangcheonsan Mountain is special in a sens that it has clean water, deep valley, rocks with fantastic shapes and stories as well as beautiful cliffs that creates superb and harmonious view.
You can visit the park all year long: In spring, cherry blossom and azalea are so beautiful !In summer, it’s the perfect to refresh and take a foot bath in the river. In autumn, you will be able to admire full foliage and take some of your best hiking pictures. In winter, snowy white landscape and frozen waterfall gives a totally different vibes. You will find numerous waterfall in the park, two of the most famous are Byeongpung waterfall and Gujanggun waterfall.
Another amazing spot is the Suspended bridge, who offers a magnificent look out over Gangcheonsan stream and beautiful valley.
